How Rivoult Buyer Protection works
Buyer Protection is not a separate insurance product. It combines secure checkout, a payout hold for the seller, and in-app tools (returns and disputes) so Rivoult can help when something goes wrong.
The three parties
You (the buyer) purchase from an independent seller. Rivoult operates the marketplace and checkout. Stripe processes the card (or wallet) payment.
The seller never receives your full card number. They receive the order details needed to ship (name, address, phone if provided, and line items).
Payout hold
After you pay, funds are not paid out to the seller immediately. Rivoult holds payouts for a period after delivery (platform default: 2 calendar days after the order is marked delivered, or 14 calendar days after ship if delivery is never confirmed). Individual sellers may use settings within platform limits.
If a return, order dispute, or payment chargeback is open, payout is blocked until the case is resolved.
What this means for you
Paying only through Rivoult checkout keeps the payment and order tools on the platform. Paying a seller outside Rivoult is not covered by Buyer Protection.
